The Revel's local federation for household garbage has been created in 1976. Many communes wanted to manage household garbage. The federation is today constituted of 63 communes (32 in Haute-Garonne, 30 in Tarn and 1 in Aude), for a total population close to 30.000 inhabitants.
The SIPOM does the collection of rubbish and takes care of its transfer to the stocking center of Lavaur. Since 1996 a rubbish Dump exists and gives the possibility to users to deposit other type of waste which are taken over by a real network of waste disposal and processing.
The access to the rubbish dump is free of charge for private citizens and is open to professionals (industrials, shopkeepers, and craftsmen) subject to payment considering the type of waste. Besides the cumbersome (TV, refrigerator…) it's possible to get rid of green wastes, scrap iron, rubbles, tires, oil, glass, plastic bottles, paper, car batteries and special wastes such as paint, solvent…
The Revel's ZI de la Pomme opens every day, except on Sunday, from 9 to 12 am and 2 to 6 p.m.
New dumps should be open and progressively exist all over the SIPOM's area.
The Revel's hospital
Health public establishment, the Revel's hospital is situated downtown, surrounded by gardens and flowered parks. The whole building has 201 bed for health services, but also general medico-technical services and administrative services.
The "Residence de l'étoile", an old people's home, created in 1998, has 60 beds. This home has a very competent auxiliary nursing staff and is situated near the hospital
